Dark Sky Night on the Dunes
Blankets, hot cocoa and a telescope on the dunes on the first clear night of November.
The shoreline here is one of the darkest places in the Lower Peninsula. On the first clear night of November, volunteers from a county astronomy club set up telescopes at a dune overlook and point out planets and star clusters.
Dress warmer than you think, bring a blanket and a red flashlight, and leave the car lights off in the lot.
